Assistant Stage Manager – Grinchmas 2023

In Fall 2023, I joined the Entertainment Operations division at Universal Orlando Resort as an Assistant Stage Manager for Grinchmas Atmosphere. Our group managed the beloved land-roaming holiday characters as well as the iconic Grinch meet-and-greet experience.

Responsibilities included:

  • Creating daily schedules for performers, ensuring 3-day and 4-day contract groups were honored.
  • Coordinating schedules for character escorts and coordinators.
  • Supporting rehearsals to observe and understand actor processes, helping the management team prepare for guest interactions.
  • Designing small recognition items and morale boosters for cast members who met performance criteria.

While much of my time was spent in the office building and managing schedules, the role gave me a unique view into how a major theme park balances talent management, guest experience, and operational consistency during one of its busiest seasons.

My time with Universal ended just before Thanksgiving 2023 due to personal circumstances, my time with Universal remains a defining professional experience. It strengthened my skills in organization, leadership, and creative problem-solving — and confirmed my passion for themed entertainment. I look forward to the possibility of returning to Universal Orlando Resort or pursuing similar opportunities in the future.


Looking Ahead!

​Although my current work is outside the entertainment industry, I consider my time with Universal Orlando Resort the foundation of my future career. My present role is a means to build financial stability and prepare for a return to Orlando, where I plan to pursue opportunities in themed entertainment operations and stage management full-time.
Universal gave me a glimpse of the career I want to build, and I’m committed to making that dream a reality.
